In order to overall study the present situation of tissue culture of Ginkgo biloba L.and to find out the law of tissue,this paper summarizes the studying advances on organ culture,callus culture,cell suspension culture,pollen culture,embryo and embryogenesis culture,hairy root culture,and germplasm conservation and physiological study using tissue culture technology.This paper also points out that there is still a lot of work to do,such as finding out the metabolic pathways of secondary metabolites and the key enzymes of key steps,obtaining somatic embryos from protoplasms,female gametophytes and pollens,and establishing a protocol for growing an embryo to a plant in the field.
