Abstract: One year old seedlings of Cinnamomum longepaniculatum,Michelia platypetala, M. foveolata and Manglietia chingii were selected for this experiment. The purpose of this paper is to study the physiological and ecological effect of four tree species on the Pb stress in the soil, and to overalty evaluate resistance to Pb stress of the trees. The results showed that the harmfulness of leaves under the stress of different Pb2+concentrations were effected by concentration main effect, tree species×concentration and tree species×concentration×time interactive effect. On basis of variance analysis, multiple-factor comparison (SPSS11.5) and overall evaluation by subordinate function method, the resistance of four tree species to Pb stress could be ordered as : C. longepaniculatum,M, platypetala,M, chingii, M. foveolata.
