Abstract: This paper dealed with the feasibility of increasing the impact of poplar laminated veneer lumber by adding bamboo veneer into to the configuration of LVL. The results showed that bamboo could obviously enhance the impact performance of LVL compared with pure poplar LVL. When bamboo was put on the two surface of LVL sandwich and in the middle of that, the impact toughness increased 30.4% and 27.3% respectively. As well as energy Wt went up 31.70,/00 and 28. 1%. While crack forming energy Wi slightly increased 7.2% and 12.8% respectively. Crack propagation energy Wp increased 40.9% and 43.4% with ductility index increasing 27.2% and 31.5%.
