Abstract

By investigating conductivity, dehydrogenase, germination percentage and germination index of cryopreserved Chinese pine seeds, feasibility of long-term storage of the seeds was studied. The results showed that: (1)the freezing and thawing was the main factor affecting the cryopreservation of the seeds; (2)cryoprotectant reduced the damage of the seeds cryopreserved,DMSO’s function was comparatively obvious; (3)the cryopreservation can be applied to store the Chinese pine seeds, and the optimal treatment combination was 10~DMSO+quick freezing+slow thawing.
