Abstract: In order to control fruit rot disease and keep fresh, the harvested apples were sprayed with PRS5 strain, which was prepared by strain fermentation and blended with different film or filmforming organic materials. The test indicated that under the lower-temperature (10℃), the rot rate of apple and relative control effects of treatment with "PRS5 preparation "and "PRS5 preparation+plastic film" were 6.7% and 79.9% respectively after 120 days. Under a constant-temperature, the best control treatments are the same as above. The rot rate and relative control effects after 120 days were 13.3% and 86, 7%, respectively. But the fruits from the former treatment were fresher than those in the latter. A series of fruit-rot-controlling and fresh-keeping experiments on navel orange fruits showed that the more concentration of strain PRS5 is, the better control effect and long fresh keeping there is. Sterilizing PRS5 preparation reduced 33.3% relative control effect compared with non-sterilized PRS5 preparation. Under a constant-temperature, fruit rot rate of norbenson navel treated by PRS5 preparation was only 4.85 % as good as the special fungicide.
