Abstract: The principle of stress action and the form of structure in the joint between old and new girder bridges by the technology of planting reinforcing steel bar were analyzed with the example in the extend construction of Hu-Ning highway. The application of this method in the bridge extension reconstruction was studied from the characteristic, applicable range and technical principle. The construction method and related matters were stressed in details.
