Abstract

Facing the transportation problems in the cities of China at present, the methods and ways to alleviate the transportation problems were analyzed with their effects and their limitations. The application of Bus Rapid Transit(BRT) was discussed. The experience of success and failure in domestic and foreign cities was summarized. With the advantages of the bus rapid transit system, its impact in the transportation development was analyzed. The prospects of BRT and its compatibilities in different sized cities in China were discussed.
