Abstract: The damage of Ricania sublimbata Jacobi on twigs in Jiangsu Province was reported for the first time in this paper, 96 species of host trees have been found out by investigation in Zijinshan National Forest Park. Among of them, 74 species of the host trees were new records on the insect. The resistance sequence of host trees on R. sublimData Jacobi was put forward based on the nidus length and the egg production. The oviposition behavior of female adult caused serious damage on the host trees. The average growth inhibitory rate of the shoot with nidus was 26.9%. The spacial distribution pattern of nidi of overwinter eggs belonged in aggregation distribution on the shoots of host trees. The nidi located on the sou then or easten shoots of crown were more then those on westen or northen shoots. There wasn’t any significantly difference between the nidus number located on the upper or the lower shoots of crown. The water content of shoot and the length of nidus were highly correlated with the hatching rate of overwinting eggs.
