Abstract

Based on 16 primers which are of stable polymorphism selected from 200 random primers, RAPD polymorphism of 38 Chimonanthus praecox cultivars was analyzed. Among a total of 154 fragments observed, 98 fragments were polymorphic (63.6%). Popgene 32 software was used to calculate the Nei’s genetic distance and a dendrogram was constructed based on UPGMA cluster analysis. These 38 surveyed cultivars were classified into 7 major groups. The results of cluster analysis were consistent with morphological classification. The RAPD molecular marker can be used identify Chimonanthus praecox cultivars and study their relationships of these cultivars.
