Abstract

This paper presented the effect of sliced veneer type, poplar wood-based panel type and hot-pressing parameters on the coefficient of shrinkage of overlaped wood-based panels. The results showed that the ration of the coefficient of shrinkage of sliced veneers to wood-based panels in the width direction could estimate if the sliced veneer could match the base board reasonably and predict the tendency of overlaped wood-based panel’ s deformation and split. The hot-pressing parameters were optimized according to the coefficient of shrinkage of panels in the width direction.
