Abstract: The progress in methods for the isolation and fractionation of Lignin-carbohydrate complexes(LCC) from plant fibrous materials, pulps and their alkali extraction liquor were reviewed, focusing particularly on comparing various method characteristics in yield, purity, fractionation and representative of LCCs. Several specific methods for the isolation and fractionation of LCC from various samples were proposed respectively. The reasonable combination of physical method, chemistry method and biological technology should be emphasized in further research, and the establishment of economic, industrialization isolation method is one of the development trends of LCCs isolation and fractionation in the future.
