Abstract: Natural secondary Tilia breviradiata deciduous broadleaf forest in Dashushan is one of the main secondary forests in the hill terrain between the Yangtze and Huaihe river, which is formed by the restoration after clearcutting or fire. It is also the important zonal vegetation of Hefei city. Based on the data collected from plots of Tilia breviradiata community, the floristic composition and characteristics, composition and features, structure and succession tendency were analyzed. The analysis of floristic geographical elements indicated that the temperate elements were dominant but tropical affinities also existed in the community. The xylophyte dominated in the community, which was divided into three distinct layers: tree, shrub and herb layers, species of inter layer plants were rich. The statistics of community features, life fom, mean DBH, and important value showed that the forest was deciduous broadleaved forest in the subzone of the northern subtropic. Analysis on the structure of community indicated that T.breviradiata was in the maturing stage and in short of natural regeneration, succession was intense.
