Abstract

Total strain of wood was divided into free shrinkage, instant elastic strain, viscoelastic strain and mechanosorptive strain. Drying stress model was established. From the model, the stress and strain could be accurately calculated according to the data of wood layered moisture content and the wood shrinkage. The model was verified by the measuring total strain of 30 mm Pinus massoniana board during drying.
