Abstract: In order to select the excellent ectomycorrhizal fungi from three species of ectomycorrhizal fungi adapting to different saline areas, three species of ectomycorrhizal fungi were grown in vitro in the saline soil extracts, which were collected from poplarplantations in Shandong and Jiangsu province. The colony diameter, biomass and salt ions content of fungi were evaluated. The results showed that the three species of ectomycorrhizal fungi had greater capacities of saline tolerance. Their growth and biomass were not obviously reduced under salt stress, but they were adapted to different saline area. Lactaricu insulsus (Li) grew well in all saline area, so it had wide range of adaptability. Xerocamus chrysenteron (Xc) grew well in saline area of Dezhou and Dongying. Boletus edulis (Be) grew well in saline area of Yancheng only. Li and Xc exhibited greater capacities of Na+ and K+ absorption under salt stress, so they were saltincluder; Be exhibited greater capacity to exclude Na+, so it was a saltexcluder. We propose that the three species of ectomycorr
