Abstract: The pine wilt disease has caused destructive damage to pine plantations and resulted in the annual loss of million of pine trees. As the pathogen of this disease, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Sleiner & Buhrer) Nickle distributes worldwide. This paper explained the morphological and pathogenic differentiation and genetic divergence of B.xylophilus. And the relationship of these factors and future’s development direction also were discussed. These results provide the useful reference to unravel the epidemic mechanism of this disease.
