Abstract: This paper deals with the resilince of the steel ball when it impacts on the five species of wood. The research shows that e2 value for steel ball impacting wood tends to straight increase with increase of the specific gravity of the wood when the steel ball impacts with a surface of the same type of grain of the different woods. For the different sections of the same wood species, e2 value for the radial section is the biggest, then the tengential section and the transverse section is the least.
