Abstract: The biomass and soil fertility of different patterns of the mixed stands of Michelia fujiansis and Chinese fir at the fifth year were investigated The results showed that the biomass of intercropping was higher (8548 t/hm2),the biomass of arbor was also higher (7848 t/hm2) Chinese fir only had lowest biomass of stand and arbor (5204 t/hm2 and 4302 t/hm2) Reunification and soil structures of the intercorpping presented better characters, soil bulk density decreased The porosity and the air flowing increased by 145% and 36% The content of soil nutrients, organic matter, N,P and K rised obviously
