Abstract: Phytosulfokine(PSK)is a new type of peptide, regulating growth of plants. We studied the role of PSK on suspension culture cells of Liriodendron hybrids. The results showed that PSK promoted cell division and proliferation; under PSK treatment, the embryogenic callus were tight and compacted, and embryogenic cells became smaller, the diameter became more consistent and the cytoplasmic became more rich densely, ect. PSK could also improve cell activity and the accumulation of embryogenic proteins, and could promote proliferation under low-density and could promote somatic embryogenesis of Liriodendron hybrids.
