Abstract: The expressed proteins during the adventitious rooting of Carya illinoinensis (pecan)hardwood cutting were identified and analyzed by MALDI-TOF-MS to evaluate its rooting mechanism. We found 48 proteins expressed differentially during adventitious rooting of Carya illinoinensis(pecan)hardwood cutting, 18 proteins of which were analyzed by peptide mass fingerprinting homology. The results showed that the different expressed proteins included energy metabolism proteins, adversity stress proteins and signal transmission proteins.Energy metabolism related proteins were ATP synthase, photosynthesis related proteins and enolase, etc.. Adversity stress proteins contained heat shock-related protein. Signal transmission proteins were mainly cytochrome enzymes and heme-binding protein.
