Abstract: Wood-cement panicleboard, a fine material used in building, consists basically of cement an j wood chips. It is manufactured through the processes of mixing, forming, pressing and setting. At present, cement-bonded particleboard is widely produced throughout the world. However, research continues to improve its quality. The author, as a visiting scholar in the Department of Forest Products, College of Forestry, wildlife and Range Sciences, University of Idaho, performed experiments on a 3-layer oriented cement-bonded board to determine the optimal ratios between cement and particles and between water and cement. The experiments showed that the three-layer oriented method can greatly increase the board strength and the optimal ratios of cement to particles, and water to cement are, respectively, 2.5 and 0.65-
