Modeling and evaluation of lowtemperature racuum drying of Gardenia yellow pigment

Abstract: The test was performed with the heating temperature of 45 ℃, the vacuum level of 008 MPa, solution thickness of 7 mm and the solution mass concentration of 20 %. The drying kinetics for lowtemperature vacuum drying of Gardenia yellow pigment solution were studied. Eight frequentlyused mathematical models in describing the characteristics of thinlayer drying were simulated using Matlab. The simulation results showed that Page model gave the best prediction. Validation experiment also showed that Page model could describe and predict the relationship between the moisture ratio and drying time for lowtemperature vacuum drying of Gardenia yellow pigment solution very well.
