Abstract: The species status of the birds in the tourist area of Qingliangfeng Mountain had been surveyed, from March 2008 to February 2009.The results showed that 1 983 individuals and 82 species were recorded, belonging to 10 orders and 31 families.Among those species, there were 1 species of national first-class protection animals, 4 species of national second-class protection animals, 49 species of beneficial, significant economical and scientific investigated value had and 7 species of special protected wild animals in Zhejiang province. All the birds were divided into three geography types, 48 oriental(58.54%), 28 paratactic(34.15%)and 6 widespread species(7.32%). The avian community structure was stable that permanent residents had the highest rate of 65.85%(54 species), while the passing migrants had the lowest rate at 2.44%(2 species). Because of the higher rate of forest coverage, forest birds(91.46%)were largely more in amount than water birds(8.54%). The highest diversity and richness coefficient values were in summer, the highest dominant coefficient value was in autumn and the highest level of evenness coefficient value was in winter. The definite seasonal fluctuation of the community came forth that the greatest density was in summer, 16.88 individuals per km2, and the smallest density was in winter, just 10.62 individuals per km2.
