Abstract: The combined process of composite biofilter and artificial wetland were used to treat the urban high polluted water, and the contaminant removal efficiency and the stability of the combined process were investigated. The results showed that the organic substance had been made degradation and nitration in the composite biofilter, and nitrogen and phosphorus were further removed in the constructed wetland. Seasonal variation of temperature showed some influences on the removal efficiency of phosphorus. Insufficient carbon source restricted the nitrogen removal. The combined process had stable contaminant removal efficiency. The average concentrations of COD, TP, NH+4-N, TN in the effluent were 16.39, 0.38, 1.44, 16.38 mg/L, respectively, and the quality indexes of effluent could reach the water quality standard for urban miscellaneous water consumption.
