Abstract: 【Objective】Analyze nearly three decades Heat Island Changes feature in Changzhou City, and understand the relationship between urban heat island intensity covered with vegetation, water and other land types. 【Method】In this paper, we used the remote sensing technology to extract each heat island area of four images for Changzhou. We studied on the whole Changzhou area using the Artis & Camahan radiation calibration temperature inversion method for the surface temperature inversion, and researched on the urban heat island effect and spatial change of 1988—2014 in Changzhou. 【Result】In the past three decades in Changzhou, the urban heat island region is consistent with the built-up area,a lot of natural city underlying surface has been destructed, instead, the artificial building underlying surface is revealed which resulting in high temperature gradually increased and the urban heat island is becoming more and more obvious. 【Conclusion】Heat island distribution characteristics has a better correlation with the land utility type in Changzhou. Low temperature areas are mainly concentrated in the vegetation and water area, vegetation can play the role of cooling down the temperature.
