Abstract: In order to understand the effect of snow storm on cycle of matter and energy flow in Wuyi Mountains, the big litterbag method was used for studying the dynamics of leaf litter decomposition in different damaged level bamboo forests over two years. The results showed that the leaf litter decomposition rates increased significantly with the damaged level. The order of C, N, P and K release rates in different bamboo forests was heavy level>middle level>low level, C, N, K release rates in heavy level sites were significantly faster than that in middle and low level sites. However, there was no significant difference of P releasing rate among different damaged level sites. The K element released the fastest among the four elements. The results also indicated that snow storm might accelerate leaf litter decomposition rate and nutrients release in the bamboo forest.
