The rapidity of the temperature response of an unloaded kiln is only a reflection of the quality of the wood-drying kiln itself. But the rapidity of the temperature response of a loaded kiln is also related to the volume, species, specification and MC of the lumber in the kiln besides the quality of the kiln itself. Through the analysis of the tested results of the temperature response, not only the heat transfer coefficient and the energy consumption under that condition can be found, but also the quality of the kiln can be evaluated.
