Abstract: Adult Batocera horsfieldi were fed with the adult host plant treated by diflubenzuron In the early and middle stage of egg layingseason, the haemolymph protein concentration of treated female dropped evidently In the late egg layingseason, the haemolymph protein concentration of treated female was higher than that of untreated control female The polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic pattern suggested that the number of protein fractions had no significant change between the treated and untreated adults Diflubenzuron had different effects on individual protein fractions Diflubenzuron had an evident inhibition on the concentration of female specific proteins, the relative migration values varied from 2.5 percent to 12.6 percent Meanwhile, it stimulated the concentration of the fractions with relative migration values between 33.6 percent and 36.7 percent These results suggested diflubenzuron had the effects siminar to juvenile hormone on adult Batocera horsfieldi Changes of haemolymph protein concentration of the treated adult were caused by its juvenile hormonelike effects
