An attempt is made in this paper to describe the definition and the classification of nature reserves,according to a lot of data and the author’s experiences.The authors summarize the development process of sustainable development and the sustainable development of nature reserves at home and abroad.Based on these analyses and the past research achievements such as nature reserves management,principles,evaluations related to criteria and indicators are suggested for the construction and development of the nature reserves in China.
