Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the techniques of cutting propagation for Simmondisa chinensis.By cuttage method in autointerval mist system on fullsunlight,together with some treatments,the rooting ability of different individuals,different plant hormones(IBA 1 000、IBA 2 000、IBA 3 000、NAA 1 000、NAA 2 000 g/kg、NanlingⅠrooting promoter、Nanling Ⅱ rooting promoter),different cutting sizes(single node,double node,three node),different cuttage dates(6 July,21 July,6 Aug.,23 Aug.,8 Sep.),cold storage and soaking by water,some rooting index such as rooting ratio,rooting quantity and root length were investigated.The results obtained by the experiment indicated that the rooting ratio of young individuals was higher than mature individuals’,but there is no different of rooting ratios among mature individuals;The rooting ratio of semihardwood was increased by plant hormone treatment,especially treated by IBA 1 000 g/kg;The best containing water ratio of cuttings for cuttage is from 40% to 50%,and best cuttage date is during July to Aug.;and the main reason for low rooting ratio of semihardwoods was that they contained rooting inhibitors,but rooting ratio was increased by soaking water treatment for 12 hours.
