Study on pyrolysis kinetics of organic montmorillonite

Abstract: Organic montmorillonite (OMMT) was prepared from trioctadecyl methyl ammonium bromide (TOAB) and montmorillonite (MMT), and then studied by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TGDTA). Results showed that the pyrolysis of OMMT was carried out at 170—530℃, and the data were analyzed by Agrawal integral equation. Combined with the linear correlation coefficient, the integral kinetic equation of G(a)=a-(1-a)ln(1-a) of the pyrolysis of OMMT, active energy (E) of 13.62 kJ/mol, frequency factor (A) of 1.92 min-1, and the kinetic compensation effect equation of ln A=0.410 3E-4.442 8 were obtained. Form factor of DTA curve calculated from pyrolysis kinetics showed that the symmetry of DTA curve of OMMT was bad, and was identical with the DTA curve in TGDTGDTA.
