Abstract: The soil physical properties, chemical properties and enzyme activity characteristics were studied in pure bamboo forest(Ⅰ), bamboo stand mixed with broadleaved trees(Ⅱ) and bamboo stand mixed with coniferous trees(Ⅲ). These bamboo forests with same management measures located in Yongan county, Fujian province. The results showed that the soil physical properties of pure bamboo forest were the best among different forest types. The bulk density of soil, noncapillary pore, maxim water holding capacity, minimum water holding capacity of pure bamboo forest was better than the physical indexes in bamboo stand mixed with broadleaved trees and bamboo stand mixed with coniferous trees. The change rules of soil chemical properties and enzyme activity were not consistent with the types of bamboo forest. The indexes value of organ matters, total nitrogen, total potassium, calcium, magnesium, catalase and phosphates were the highest in pure bamboo forest; the indexes of pH value, total phosphorus, available phosphorus and urea enzyme were the highest in bamboo stand mixed with broadleaved trees; the indexes of available nitrogen, available potassium and invertase were the highest in bamboo stand mixed with coniferous trees. The comprehensive scores of soil were in the order of pure bamboo forest(0.548 7)>bamboo stand mixed with broadleaved trees(0.437 6)>bamboo stand mixed with coniferous trees(0.411 2). The comprehensive properties in pure bamboo forest were the best. Usually the management measures of pure bamboo forest were more intensive than in the bamboo stand mixed with broadleaved trees. It was important to manage the mixed trees in bamboo forest.
