Abstract: Under the rootcontrolling cultivation conditions, the distribution characteristics and seasonal dynamics of sixyearold Osmanthus fragrans seedling root system were studied by using soil drilling. The results showed that root length, volume and density were increased with time passed. Meanwhile, fibrous roots sprouted obviously and absorbing roots increased. Root distribution layer was updrifted and concentrated in 0—10 cm soil depth mostly which indicated that there were certain effects on root configuration under rootcontrolling cultivation.
