Abstract: In order to assess the site quality of Chinese fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) stand quantitatively, data of 90 sample plots of Chinese fir stand in the middle of the southern mountain area of Anhui province were used to form a mathematical model according to the theory of quantification I, and then a scoring table for its site quality assessment is compiled by means of programed computation.Judging by the multiple correlation coefficient, the distribution of the relative value of residual error and the result of checking computation on the scoring table, this method of quantitative assessment on site quality of Chinese fir stand is cons sidered useful for land selection, prediction of forest productivity, and forest management.Though the multiple correlation coefficient of the model with interaction term is only a little higher than that of one without this term, yet the prediction value from the former is closer to the actual situation. The trapezoidal scoring table is convenient to the user to choose by himself according to the local conditions.
