Resistance test of tissue cultured plantlets of Pinus elliottii against Lecanostica acicola

Abstract

In order to apply the Lecanosticta acicola resistance individuals and families of Pinus elliottii to forestry production, the disease resistance ability of tissue cultured and greenhouse biennial tissue cultured plantlets of Pinus elliottii were measured. The plantlets were treated with Lecanosticta acicola toxins or infected with the Lecanosticta acicola spore suspension. The results showed significant difference of disease resistance ability among different families and different clones within a certain family. The disease resistant abilities of bottle-cultured and greenhouse-cultured plantlets were consistent, the correlation coefficient was 0.789.
