Abstract

The friction between half metal friction materials and metals lies in the surface transmutation and adhesion in the contact area. The wear of the friction material consists of adhesive wear, granular wear, heat fatigue wear and heat oxidation wear.Lubricants can produce solid transfer membrane of molecular orientation on the friction surface and can turn the friction between the friction surface to the friction among solid lubricants. Thus the friction and wear of the material can be reduced. The results indicated that the lubricative efficiency of distinct solid lubricants is different, and the temperature dependency of a lubricant has relations with its temperature characteristics. It demonstrates that a complex of several kinds of lubricants can improve the modification efficiency.
